Red River Launches Access-EDU to Deliver School-Level Connectivity at Home

Red River’s latest solution supports remote learning with reliable, fast and secure Internet

CLAREMONT, N.H. and  Austin, Texas  -July 9, 2020 - Red River, a technology transformation company, today unveiled Access-EDU, a new solution leveraging private LTE technology to deliver reliable connectivity for remote learning.

Access-EDU leverages private LTE technology and the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) to create a cellular-based network for students and faculty to connect to their school’s Internet. This solution not only provides connectivity over a wide geographical location, but Access-EDU also utilizes the same security protocols already established by schools to keep students and data safe.

“As most, if not all, of our country’s school districts moved to remote learning, the challenges of lacking fast, reliable Internet were magnified, particularly in rural locations,” said Kevin Steeprow, Vice President of Engineering for Red River. “This solution takes connectivity out of the equation, allowing schools to focus on education of all its students without the added burden of not having access to the tools and resources they need.”

Access-EDU bypasses home Internet connections to leverage cellular data from customer-owned equipment like smartphones, tablets or computers to access the school’s private network infrastructure. In this model, the school’s existing network expands, delivering the same security, access and capacity as on-site WiFi. Access-EDU can be deployed quickly and is more cost-effective than purchasing or leasing mobile hotspots.

Access-EDU can be adapted to support enterprise use cases such as universities, parks, stadiums, ports, mines, airports, factories and more. More information about Access-EDU can be found here: https://redriver.com/access-edu
